Dr. Victoria Azara, Psychologist
In my practice I see both adults and children. With my adult clients I use a psychodynamic approach and integrate CBT when indicated. We focus on relationships and integrate the work for life transitions, marital difficulties, school and work-related stresses, anxiety and depression. I create an environment in which individuals, couples and families can explore and confront life challenges.
I have extensive background and experience in working with children and families. I emphasize regular and frequent parent guidance as an integral part of child therapy.
I am a graduate of the NYU Postdoctoral Program in Psychotherapy. I have been in private practice for 30 years. I have been on the faculty of Yeshiva University where I supervised doctoral students who are training to be psychotherapists. I am founder of the Upper Eastside Child Therapy Group.
